St. Edmund's Catholic Primary School is situated in the heart of Bungay in St. Mary's Street. It is a co-educational school for children aged 4 to 11 and at present we have 96 pupils on role. The school was opened in 1873 and owes its existence to the Benedictine Fathers of Downside Abbey and to the Catholic Community of Bungay.
The school has an open admissions policy and admits pupils from Catholic and Christian faiths.

Bungay Middle School is a mixed, comprehensive, co-educational, community day school for children aged 9-13 years. Situated in the Waveney Valley on the Suffolk/Norfolk border, the school occupies a large site on the edge of the market town of Bungay.

Founded in 1565 and a Grammar School until 1974, the school maintains the best of the old traditions within the modern curriculum developments. The school serves both Bungay and Halesworth and offers a wide range of academic and vocational courses to students age 13 - 19.
The school has benefitted from new educational provisions including new maths and science wings and new sixth form blocks. There are excellent sports facilities in the sports hall, such as a new gymnasium and fitness centre.
