Bungay Town FC

Bungay Town Football Club, known as the Black Dogs, was formed in 1925. There are three Saturday adult teams. In the summer of 2004 Bungay Town merged with Ditchingham Rovers F.C. so there are now also two senior Sunday teams (playing as Ditchingham and Bungay Rovers).

In 2003 a merger with local junior club, Bungay Rangers F.C., meant that there are also twelve junior boys' teams, from age 7 upwards, and two junior girls' teams (Under 12s and Under 14s).

BTFC is delighted to have been awarded the prestigious FA Community Club Status by the Football Association. We are one of only around 100 football clubs in the country to have this quality kitemark, which shows that we provide a high quality standard of coaching.

The home ground is the Maltings Meadow in Ditchingham. Take a look at the website for further information. www.bungaytownfc.org.uk.

Bungay Black Dog Running Club

Bungay Black Dog Running Club meets for weekly training sessions at the sports hall and use the High School track during the summer months. Track events are held in the summer as well as a regular programme of cross country and road races throughout the year.

Bungay Marathon and Half Marathon have been held annually in April since 1982 and after the first one, the Black Dog Running Club was formed. There is also a very popular fun run and all the profits from the three races goes to a nominated charity.

We are situated centrally on the Norfolk / Suffolk border. We encourage all abilities to join; friendliness and camaraderie are our strengths. We are more than just a running club, and social activities feature strongly in our club calendar, and we hold more races than any other club in the county (probably!!).

We are a volunteer canoe club which arranges a whole host of paddlesport activities for people of varying abilities from beginner to the more advanced levels. The Club has been in existence for over fifty years and we currently have around 100 members which makes us possibly one of the largest clubs in East Anglia.

The Club has many family groups who participate where mum, dad and the kids all paddle. Additionally we also have several local youth organisations who have affiliated with us including some of the local schools.

In addition to paddling the Waveney the Club regularly paddles local coastlines and rivers such as the Broads and further away in places particularly where there is whitewater. We have a modern, well stocked boatshed at Bungay Staithe and a variety of craft, in addition to changing rooms and showers.
