Black Dog Arts was formed August 2007. Its aim is 'to develop the fine and applied arts in the Bungay area. This shall be achieved through a member-led association' and 'organise and promote events and activities including exhibitions, meetings, workshops, lectures, classes, seminars and courses, plus any other event deemed appropriate'. Our members range from well-known artists and crafts people as well as those who paint/craft for pleasure. All are welcome to join, annual fee minimum £5

The Bungay and District Horticultural Society shows dates for 2007 are:
Summer Show: Saturday July 19th
Early Autumn Show: Saturday September 6th
Late Autumn Show: Saturday November 8th
Doors open 2pm. Admission 50p, Children 10p
Plants for sale at all shows + Refreshments + Raffle
The Society welcomes new members, especially if you are interested in entering any of the classes, either vegetables, fruit, flowers, pot plants, flower arranging or cookery. The Late Autumn Show also includes photography and handicraft classes and all the main shows include children's classes. Its great fun to enter and you never know - you might win a prize!

But it you don't want to show this year, come along to see what people have produced and to buy the plants and produce raised by members. The Society will also be running a stall at the Garden Market on Sunday May 18th. Our stall is THE destination for buying all your young vegetables, all ready for planting out.

While
each Lions Club gives priority to the needs of it's local community
the Association is international, with no religious or political
affiliations of any description. It is uniquely placed to provide
urgent assistance in times of disaster and it is well equipped
to do this through Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF),
a trust fund established by regular contributions from Lions Clubs
throughout the world.
The
Foundation is administered entirely by Lions International and
all the costs are met from the subscriptions of it's members.

Society was founded in November 1971 with the following aims:
To stimulate interest in the town of Bungay and it's surrounding
area.
To promote high standards of planning and architecture
To secure the preservation, protection, development and improvement
of features of historic and public interest.
The society meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7.30pm for lectures in the Community Centre, recess for outings

Next year we will be presenting our first straight play which is 'Pack of Lies' by Hugh Whitemore. The play is based on the true story of the Krougers who were arrested for spying for the Russians in the early 1960's. The play will be at the Fisher Theatre on April 3rd 4th and 5th.
There will then be a further 2 productions in 2008.

The Bungay Choral Society which currently has around 60 members,meets every Thursday in the Orange Room at Emmanuel Church at 7.30pm. Our objective is "to advance, improve, develop and maintain public education in choral music by the study and performance of choral works in the town and district".

Bungay Camera Club was formed in 1957 and normally holds meetings
on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 7:30pm. The
aims of the Bungay Camera Club are to encourage the art of photography
in all its forms.
Competitions
are held for black and white, colour transparancies and colour
prints. The club welcomes visitors to their meetings. People of
all levels of photography are welcome to join from beginners to
the more experienced photographer
Lessons in
Black & white developing and printing given. Digital photography
welcome and potential new members can come to their first 3 meetings
free.

WI is a member of the Suffolk East Federation of WIs and the National
Federation of WIs. As well as regular monthly meetings to
hear a variety of speakers we have outings, get-togethers with
other local WIs and take part in federation and national events
and campaigns.

the Royal British Legion Club, Priory Lane. Following the
business part of the meeting there is usually a guest speaker.

object is to raise funds for the Women's Section schemes
and this is done by means of coffee mornings and sales,
raffles and an annual fete. New members are always welcome.
A
bingo is held in the club on the fourth Tuesday of the month
from 2.30pm. |

Lodge No. 929 was founded in 1862 and there are 55 members. Meetings
start from 6.30pm on the first Wednesday of each month from September

Masons meet for the purpose of raising funds for Charity whilst
having a good night out and there is usually a three course meal
following each meeting.Social functions are also arranged.

are from all walks of life whatever their political or religious
