This
beautiful Georgian building in Broad Street in Bungay, just
200 yards from the Buttercross in the centre of town is steeped in history. The Theatre has recently been completely renovated and as well as the main fully equipped auditorium, with boxes and a special adaptable floor to suit any for of theatre production or other events, the building includes two other rooms, one suitable for workshops, an atmospheric basement and the Fisher's Wine Bar which is now open daily for morning coffee, lunches ands tea, and will also be open in the evenings in due course. The Town’s Community Centre is in Upper Olland Street, next door to the Police Station. It has a large hall with a small stage, capable of holding an audience of 140. For a dinner, it can accommodate 110, seated at tables.
There is a smaller lounge, occupied during the weekday by Beehive Childcare, but this can be hired in the evenings or weekends. It has a fully equipped kitchen, with crockery and cutlery for hire. For availability and bookings, contact David Wuyts on 01986 896778 |

"The objective of the Bungay & District Sports Association is to enhance access to sports facilities in Bungay and surrounding catchments area, increasing participation and encouraging the pursuit of excellence."
The £1m project was completed in March 2006 and Brian Gunn was on hand to open the new clubhouse and changing facilities. Further work is on-going however and a new multi-use games area was laid during 2007. Projects are also underway for a new cricket pitch in 2008 and floodlights around the first team football pitch.
The website has been designed to bring together the sports clubs in Bungay and give honest and up to date information on the progress of the sports clubs themselves.

Canoes
have the advantage of being totally silent, allowing you to get
closer to wildlife whilst enjoying the beautiful landscape of
the Waveney Valley and there are canoes for hire at Outney Meadow
Caravan Park.
There
are instructions should you wish, that will give an enjoyable
day paddling a canoe along the river Waveney around the Bungay
Loop from the Outney Meadow Caravan Park upstream to the road
bridge. The trip takes about 3 hours paddling time.
Swans,
herons and kingfishers can be seen on the river and, in the summer
beautiful damselflies, butterflies and dragonflies. Although otters
are living in the river they are not easily seen.
Outney
Meadow Caravan Park is one of the Broads Bike Hire Centres.We
have high quality terrain bikes for hire at £9 for a whole
day with half day and hourly rates also available on request.
Bikes are available to hire for all sizes and ages plus children's
seats, helmets, locks and racks for your bags.
There
are plenty of pretty villages within easy reach with ancient churches,
pubs, cafes and other attractions to enjoy or you might make it
to the nearby coast with beautiful sandy beaches. |

Bungay Library is open 7 days a week. You can chat, read the newspapers,
listen to music, surf the net and take part in activities as well
as borrow books, films, games and music. There is also a photocopying
machine and cups of coffee are available. During the school holidays
there has been a 'Reading Game' for children with presentations
taking place on 9th September.
The
mezzanine floor is host to numerous exhibitions throughout the

Opened
in May 2001, Bateman's Barn, not only provides delicious meals
and refreshments for visitors and walkers, but is an exciting
new venue for business meetings conferences and weddings. Bateman's
Barn seats up to 86 in comfort, and can be divided to provide
a more intimate setting for up to 40.
Sited
in former stables, close to the farmhouse, the 16th century barn
incorporates flint walls from earlier medieval buildings. A permanent
display tells the story of South Elmham Hall and the Old Minster.
Bateman's
Barn can be booked for your wedding the reception, or for parties,
for further education groups or as a conference facility. Our
cafe/tea
room serves light refreshments and caters for parties or groups

Bungay High School is proud to share it's Sports Hall, Gym, Playing Fields and Tennis Courts with the local community. The Centre is open for bookings every evening after school from 6.00pm to 10.00pm and during the weekends and school holidays from 9.00am to 10.00pm. Several well known, and thriving clubs use the facilities; such as Bungay Blackdog Running Club and Bungay Border Gym Club and it also provides regular bookings for popular local clubs covering indoor football, basketball, badminton, cricket and tennis.
The centre caters for activities as diverse as dog-training, children's parties and roller-skating so there really is something for everyone!
Bungay Sports Centre is staffed mainly by Leisure Officers from our own VI Form who have a love of sport and benefit from the experience of part-time work which fits in with their studies.
