Do you really care about our wonderful River Waveney?

Full of quality roach and bream, greatly coloured perch and even these days hefty carp roam both its tidal reaches and the upstream weedy shallows that exceed 30 lbs in weight.

Don’t be complacent though about this fantastic facility separating Norfolk and Suffolk for it has a history of maladies as well as phenomenal successes !

Before the Headworks at Redgrave and Lopham Fen was moved the flow was diminishing drastically, and prior to that pig effluent releases caused untold chemical damage to the ecology of the river. Riffles restored much but we need to keep a constant eye on the welfare of our lovely lady the Waveney. There is much more about her within this site if you have any doubts.

Often there are opportunities to comment and participate in the future plans for the use of water in relation to angling. Such an opportunity has arisen recently in relation to the following. On behalf of Suffolk County Amalgamated Angling Association (as Acting Secretary) I constructed the following partial extracts from the Paper as some of the responses (now approved by the SCAAA Committee and submitted)

It is a very full Paper, we need more responses to the University from all interested anglers, so to browse well is to your advantage. I publish these here for your interests and, so it can be seen there is more that goes on behind the scenes in angling administration too, than one might at first think. If we do not respond then we have no cause for complaint.

We cannot just sit idly by and watch a river die from poor husbandry ! ! ! .

If you care about our River then please click here download the Word document which has been reproduced below and email your comments by 28th October.
